Horizones is a hillside residential complex located in the heart of Dhërmi, thoughtfully designed to blend harmoniously with the natural terrain. Every aspect of the project respects local urban planning regulations, including building setbacks, property boundaries, and alignment with roadways. The access to the property is discreetly provided through a secondary road on the western edge of the site, from which a private, underground circulation route branches off into the complex.

CONCEPT

The residential typology consists exclusively of apartments, distributed longitudinally in response to the shape, topography, and orientation of the site. The layout is organized in terraces, ascending with the natural slope of the land. This vertical zoning allows for premium, more secluded apartments at higher elevations, while maintaining openness and accessibility across the site. Entry into the complex is enabled via a transversal road along the boundary, ensuring controlled movement and privacy.

CONCEPT & FUNCIONALITY OF THE COMPLEX

The design concept is rooted in the morphology of the terrain, embracing the natural contour lines to form a stepped, cascading architecture. Rather than altering the landscape, the buildings are integrated into it rising and retreating with the hill to create a visual dialogue with the environment. This terraced structure allows for panoramic views, privacy, and a stronger connection between the architecture and the untouched Mediterranean landscape.

Each apartment is paired with its own infinity pool and landscaped terrace, creating an exclusive private oasis for residents. The volumes are deliberately fragmented, offering dynamic visual breaks and maximizing both sunlight exposure and natural ventilation. The rooftop gardens and green zones between levels act as a buffer, enriching the microclimate while enhancing both the ecological and aesthetic value of the development.

Materials

Architecturally, Horizones is characterized by a restrained material palette that emphasizes natural textures and regional identity. The façades are clad in locally sourced stone, paired with Mediterranean elements such as wood, concrete, and metal window frames. The architecture follows clean, linear forms inspired by the surrounding terrain, maintaining a balanced rhythm between solid and transparent surfaces to preserve a sense of both openness and security.

Concept

At the masterplan level, the project is conceived as a unified ensemble, connected underground by a central vertical circulation core. Above ground, however, each volume maintains its individuality, organized by apartment typologies. The minimal design of the facades, the use of natural elements, and the integration of water and greenery create a living environment that feels both contemporary and deeply rooted in place delivering a lifestyle of privacy, serenity, and immersive natural beauty.

Designed for those who seek calm without compromise, the project redefines hillside living in Dhërmi by offering timeless design, breathtaking views, and an uncompromised connection to the natural surroundings. Every detail has been curated to provide a sense of escape while remaining deeply rooted in the landscape, culture, and spirit of the Ionian coast.
